EDL supporter charged with terrorism offences

In a week where the English Defence League have been mostly preoccupied with terrorism arrests, it seems to have escaped their notice that one of their own has been charged with five offences under Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000 and one offence under Section Two of the Terrorism Act 2006.

Niall Florence, 20, of St Cuthbert Street, Burnley, was arrested in a pre-planned operation on December 9th last year.

He has been bailed to attend Westminster Magistrates' Court on July 20th.

Whilst details on the actual offence are sketchy, Florence appears to be a supporter of the English Defence League and signed a petition when EDL leader, Tommy Robinson was jailed last year for breaching his bail conditions after the Tower Hamlets demonstration. Robinson claimed he went on a hunger strike which turned out to be untrue.

The petition below shows Florence signed it on the 8th September, 2011.

Surely this is enough evidence to designate the EDL as a terrorist organisation and the full weight of British anti terror law should be applied to hunt them down. This terrorist event follows on from another when two EDL members were caught and imprisoned for trying to blow up a Mosque which was full of people. Enough is enough!! Surely we wouldn't allow Al Queda to operate freely in Britain so why are the terrorist EDL allowed to?
